Rahway Welcomes Two New Coffee Shops

Downtown Rahway welcomed two new coffee shops at the start of 2019.

Melao Cafe and Creamery on 1429 Irving offers a wide variety of espresso drinks, coffee, artisan tea in edition to their small bites menu, soup, and most notably, rolled ice cream.  They also host open mic nights and other community events and partner with the Irving Inn on different desserts.  They are open daily Monday-Thursday 5:30 AM- 9:30 PM, Friday 5:30 AM- 10:00 PM, Saturday 6:30 AM- 10:00 PM, and Sunday 6:30 AM- 9:30 PM.  Street parking is available, or they are convenient to the parking garage on Lewis Street as well.

The Coffee Box opened it’s doors on Valentine’s Day and has been an instant hit.  On the corner of E Cherry St and Irving occupying the former Kennedy Jewelers, this two shop chain has been successful in Plainfield and decided to expand to Rahway.  They offer a wonderful variety of quick bites, including gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options as well as pastries, fair trade coffee, espresso drinks, and tea in a beautiful atmosphere with exposed brick walls and large seating areas.  Their hours are Monday-Friday 6:00 AM- 6:00PM and Saturday and Sunday 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM.  Stop by today and welcome them to Rahway!
